Work with a supportive & experienced team

We’re looking for a hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to lead our established night shift team at our busy Glossop site. Reporting to the Warehouse Management team you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the shift and ensuring all tasks are completed to relevant deadlines. You’ll guide the team, keep the warehouse running smoothly, and take ownership of nightly operations from 10 PM to 6:30 AM, Sunday to Thursday.

We’re Purpose Driven. Since 1984, we’ve grown to become the largest in our sector, and we’ve carried the same spirit with us every step of the way. We’re proud of our diverse, passionate team and the way we collaborate to make things happen. Our carefully crafted rugs are the centrepieces that bring rooms and people together. That togetherness is the very essence of who we are.

You’ll Grow With Us. This role offers scope for progression for the right candidate. Initially you will take full responsibility for the successful operational delivery of the Night shift, working collaboratively with other shift supervisors to ensure a smooth transition between shifts. You will be responsible for supervising a team of operatives, delegating duties and tracking productivity. Leading from the front you will ensure that all tasks are completed on time and to a high standard. With this comes the opportunity of progression into more senior managerial roles.

  • Organised and confident managing tasks, motivating others and making decisions under pressure
  • Comfortable using WMS platforms and Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel
  • A solid understanding of health, safety and quality standards and how to apply them day to day
  • Clear communicator and problem solver, flexible to support across different shift patterns when needed

Even Better If You Bring

  • A valid driving licence
  • IOSH or similar health and safety training
  • Experience coaching or mentoring others
  • Confidence to suggest changes and fix issues

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Working with the previous shift manager to produce a shift plan, allocate work and accurately track productivity for your team
  • Brief and support with deadlines and expectations for staff on night shift
  • Take an active role in providing hands on support across the warehouse; from receipting goods, stock movement, and picking / packing and dispatching orders.
  • Manage rotas, stock checks and admin so the shift runs smoothly and accurately
  • Keep standards high in safety, cleanliness, equipment and site security
  • Supervise productivity of the shift and work allocation to produce a handover for the following shift supervisor highlighting any issues, focus points or areas that may not be running to deadline.

Salary £32,200 - £36,800 inclusive of shift allowance (Dependent on Experience)

Contract Full Time/ Permanent/37.5 hours per week
