You understand what a high performing function looks like, know how to build toward it, and have the credibility to hold your ground when the data tells a story that senior stakeholders don't want to hear.
What you'll do:
- Play a key role in shifting the function from a service that reports what has happened to one that drives decisions about what should happen next.
- Work closely with the Head of Data to lay the foundations for a more strategic, consultative model, building the team, tools, and ways of working.
- Set the analytics roadmap, prioritising and sequencing delivery for greatest commercial impact.
- Establish and grow data science capability within the function, systematically reducing low value activity.
- Drive measurable adoption of self-serve analytics across Growth, Engagement, Partnerships and beyond.
- Rebalance delivery accountability, working with tribe leads to shift ownership back to them.
- Lead and line manage Data Analysts and Senior Data Analysts, setting clear expectations for quality and delivery.
- Lead on modern tooling and applied data science methods, building the team's capability through coaching and structured development.
- Operate as a credible authority with C Suite level stakeholders, challenging assumptions and articulating data insights.
- Defend analytical methodology under scrutiny, clearly articulating choices made.
- Exercise independent judgement on significant insights and their business impact.
- Own complex and high impact analytical work, ensuring outputs are trusted and aligned with governance expectations.
What you'll bring:
- Significant experience in data analytics, including ownership of high stakes analysis.
- Ability to manage C Suite level stakeholders, influencing at senior levels and challenging when necessary.
- Proven track record of landing self-serve adoption with measurable outcomes.
- Experience rebalancing accountability in matrixed environments.
- Experience in building partnerships across functions.
- Strong hands-on technical capability, including SQL, Power BI, and Python or similar.
- Communication and conviction, operating credibly with senior stakeholders.
