Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic Research Associate in Histology to join our passionate team. The candidate will work closely with our team of scientists to advance multiple aspects of the R&D programs at Quotient Therapeutics. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, able to thrive in a fast-paced, action-oriented team environment and have a clear passion for the science we are doing. They will have demonstrated evidence of agility in their scientific work and an overt attitude of positivity when facing challenges. They will be dedicated to learning and development, embrace feedback and be open to working outside their comfort zone.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform histological techniques including tissue fixation, embedding, sectioning, immunohistochemistry, and specialized staining protocols
• Collaborate with the assay development team on process optimization and method transfers
• Support the implementation of novel target discovery platforms, protocols, and other assays
• Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards, including the Human Tissue Act and COSHH
• Collaborate and communicate with other team members across various functional areas

Key Skills and Experience

• BSc or MSc degree in biochemistry, molecular or microbiology, or related field
• 2+ years of relevant post-graduation experience
• Hands-on experience in taking tissue through multiple histology processes including embedding, sectioning, and staining
• Knowledge and experience of working under HTA regulations
• Use of laboratory information management systems (Benchling preferred)
• Experience of working in a high-throughput laboratory environment
• Experience in a variety of molecular biology and biochemistry techniques, including: DNA extraction, NGS library preparation, tissue sectioning and laser capture microdissection.
• Knowledge of any/all of the following: immunology, mRNA expression analysis, DNA/RNA purification, RNA biology, next generation sequencing
