Head of Technology Platform

Quotient Therapeutics Ltd is a privately held, early-stage company developing a novel genomics platform and therapeutics for diseases with a large unmet need. The company was founded by Flagship Pioneering, an innovative enterprise that conceives, creates, resources, and grows first-in-category life sciences companies.

We are seeking a Head of High-Throughput Lab that reports to senior leadership and leads a team of bench scientists that produce high-quality, multi-omic data at scale. Specifically, this team is responsible for the end-to-end processing of samples, including histology, cell sorting, extraction of genetic material and preparation for downstream omics analysis. The role includes oversight of lab operations, defining processes that enable consistent quality, instilling a collaborative, excellence-focused culture where the status quo is constantly pressure tested.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop team of scientists in the high throughput lab, including process definitions, task prioritization and scheduling, health and safety and continuous improvement.
• Work directly with senior leadership to drive towards major corporate goals and own strategic initiatives, such as optimizing operational efficiency.
• Take a leading role in defining best practices and setting team culture, working towards shared KPIs, executing against ambitious timelines in alignment with business needs.
• Set a high bar for excellence, quality and safety, continuously investing into improved ways-of-working, acting with an innovation mindset.
• Collaborate with other leaders at Quotient, constantly seeking ways to improve how we operate.
• Interact with key suppliers and advisors, minimizing bottlenecks and enabling high-quality relationships.

Requirements:

• MS or Ph.D. in biology or related discipline with 10+ years of relevant post-academic experience with an excellent track record of operating and scaling high-throughput labs.
• 3+ years of experience hiring, leading and developing teams of 10+ scientists.
• Expertise in performing genomics and other omics experiments at scale, using automation equipment.
• Experience defining weekly schedules for complex, multi-project and multi-person lab operations.
• Knowledge of health & safety best practices, enabling a safe working environment.
• Proven track record of defining processes and putting in place continuous improvement methods, enabling data generation to routinely deliver against ambitious timelines.
