Quotient Therapeutics Ltd is a privately held, earlyâstage company developing a novel genomics platform and therapeutics for diseases with a large unmet need. The company was founded by Flagship Pioneering, an innovative enterprise that conceives, creates, resources, and grows firstâinâcategory life sciences companies.
We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic Flow Scientist to join our passionate team. The role will take ownership of operating and maintaining flow cytometry and cell sorting equipment, as well as the design of flow panels and optimization of tissue dissociation and staining methods. The successful candidate will be a selfâstarter, able to thrive in a fastâpaced, actionâoriented team environment and have a clear passion for the science we are doing.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain and troubleshoot flow cytometry and cell sorting equipment, ensuring optimal performance for research activities.
- Design or adapt tissue dissociation and cell/nuclei isolation methods to meet project goals, and explore new technologies at the cuttingâedge of the field.
- Design and validate antibody panels for flow cytometry and cell sorting.
- Conduct cell sorting to isolate specific cell populations, with high purity and viability.
- Assist in sample preparation of human tissues and cells.
- Provide technical support and training to other team members on the operation of flow cytometry and cell sorting equipment.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards, including the Human Tissue Act and COSHH.
- Collaborate and communicate with other team members across various functional areas.
Key Skills and Experience
- BSc or MSc degree in biochemistry, molecular biology or microbiology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years' handsâon experience of flow cytometry and cell sorting, including multispectral.
- Deep understanding of the maintenance and set up of flow cytometry and cell sorting equipment.
- Experience in the design and validation of antibody panels for flow cytometry.
- Knowledge and experience of working under HTA regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Use of laboratory information management systems (Benchling preferred).
- Experience in the isolation and sorting of nuclei.
- Experience with optimization of tissue dissociation methods.
- Experience with next generation sequencing library preparation and other downstream molecular biology processing.
- Previous experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical industry setting.
- Experience working within a flow cytometry and cell sorting facility.
- Experience working with digital productivity tools such as Notion, Trello or Jira.
