We’re looking for a skilled Painter and Decorator to join our Repairs & Voids team, helping us deliver outstanding repairs and maintenance services to our tenants across the East of England.

As part of Flagship Group, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining and improving our properties, working alongside other trades and colleagues to ensure homes are safe, comfortable, and beautifully finished.

Location: Lowestoft, Saxmundham, Beccles and surrounding areas.

Working hours: Full time 08:00-17:00 Monday to Thursday and 08:00-14:30 on Fridays (40 hours per week).

Out of hours/overtime may be required.

This role involves carrying out a range of painting and decorating-related repairs and maintenance tasks, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard on the first attempt. Key responsibilities include preparing surfaces through sanding, filling, and priming, followed by glossing and decorative finishes. The role also encompasses cleaning damp and mould, performing void clearances, and conducting flood repairs. Where necessary, the individual will identify and arrange for the safe removal of asbestos. Additionally, they will use schedules of rates to assess job content and produce accurate estimates.

Essential Criteria:

  • Full Trade Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2 in a relevant trade, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong practical skills and ability to assess and prepare for jobs.
  • Excellent customer service, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Competence in Microsoft Outlook and Teams.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to join the out-of-hours on-call rota (including public holidays).
