As a Paralegal (Litigation), you’ll specialise in Housing Management Litigation, supporting the In‑House Counsel (Litigation) with a varied and impactful caseload. Your work will directly support colleagues across the Group to manage risk, resolve disputes and deliver fair, lawful outcomes for our customers and communities. You’ll provide high‑quality legal support across possession claims, injunctions, disrepair claims, general housing management advice and other civil litigation involving the Group, delivering work on time, to budget, and to a high standard. This is a dynamic role offering regular exposure to court advocacy, legal training, and collaborative working across housing and other teams within the Group.

Role and responsibilities

  • Supporting the In‑House Counsel with housing management litigation cases
  • Working on possession proceedings, injunctions, disrepair claims, general housing management advice and other civil litigation involving the Group
  • Providing clear, practical legal advice on routine matters and supporting more complex cases
  • Attending court to advocate on behalf of the organisation
  • Supporting colleagues and members of the public to prepare accurate witness statements and court evidence
  • Delivering legal training and updates to staff across the Group
  • Working directly with Housing and other teams across the region, including attending offices as required
  • Overseeing spend on outsourced legal services in line with financial regulations
  • Maintaining accurate case data and records on internal systems to support reporting and decision‑making

What we’re looking for

  • You’ll be confident, well‑organised and comfortable working in a fast‑paced legal environment, with a strong focus on customer service and collaboration.
  • Experience handling legal work within a law firm or tenancy enforcement department of a housing provider
  • Experience of court advocacy or a strong willingness to undertake advocacy as part of the role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to influence decisions using facts and data
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to adapt your communication for different audiences
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work to deadlines and budget
  • Confidence working with legal and case management systems
  • A proactive, solutions‑focused approach to problem‑solving
