We offer exceptional training and career development, along with the opportunity to learn from some of the best in the business.This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic Finance department, which currently comprises of 20 individuals across Central Accounting, Commercial Finance, Revenue Control, Cashiering and Finance Systems, all working collaboratively to provide the insight and financial stewardship that underpin the Firm’s performance and strategic ambitions.Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for a portfolio of partner practice groups, working to reduce “lock‑up” through effective WIP management, timely processing of bills and liaising with clients to ensure prompt payment of invoicesTake ownership of client queries, ensuring they are resolved within firm SLA timesBuild and maintain strong client relationships throughout the revenue cycle to ensure invoices are processed promptly and paid in line with agreed termsEnsure all queries are resolved in a timely manner, without adverse impact on client relationships or cashflowMonitor exposure across the assigned portfolio, ensuring risk is minimised and escalations are actioned in accordance with firm guidelines to continually improve lock‑up daysMaintain an accurate client contacts database and up‑to‑date notes on the Aderant collections system, ensuring adherence to the collections policyManage special rates, maintain registers, produce account reconciliations and issue monthly statements of accountManage a ledger of group clientsWork collaboratively across all practice groups, taking ownership of partner debt across multiple ledgers, including the transfer of time and client funds in line with firm policyPrepare files for legal action on non‑paying matters, ensuring all required steps are taken, including discussions with partners and the Revenue Manager, and completion of all necessary documentationProvide flexible support at month‑end and assist the wider Finance team when requiredContribute to future projects as the firm continues to develop and enhance its billing processesPerson SpecificationThe ideal candidate will demonstrate:A proven track record in a revenue role, ideally within the legal sector or another professional services environmentAbility to build strong working relationships with partners and internal teams to maximise cashflowA confident and professional telephone manner, with the ability to manage client relationships effectively, particularly where issues ariseConfidence dealing with individuals in positions of authorityA proactive, forward‑thinking approach, with ownership of ledgers in line with collections policy guidelinesStrong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projectsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalStrong numerical and analytical capabilityHigh levels of accuracy and attention to detailEffective time management skills with the ability to multi‑taskA calm, confident and resilient approachA professional, positive and ‘can‑do’ attitudePrevious experience with Aderant Expert (advantageous but not essential)Billing experience (desirable), particularly to support quarter‑end and year‑end processesE‑billing experience (preferred but not essential)Strong IT skills, including Excel and Word
