Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Manufacturing Operative to join our woodworking workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating woodworking machines, including CNC machines, working with oak to cut, polish, and assemble parts, and utilising warehouse equipment as needed. This full-time position requires a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards, attention to detail, and ensuring a tidy and safe workspace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Operation: Operate woodworking machinery, including CNC machines, table saws, planers, and sanders, to cut and shape oak components accurately.
- CNC Programming: Prepare and manage CNC machine project files using relevant computer software, ensuring precision and efficiency in production.
- Assembly: Glue and assemble wooden parts to create finished products, ensuring strong joints and high-quality finishes.
- Warehouse Equipment Operation: Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to move materials and finished products as needed.
- Quality Control: Inspect all products for defects or inconsistencies, ensuring that only high-quality items are produced and shipped.
- Workspace Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized workshop, adhering to safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Inventory Management: Assist with inventory tracking and management, ensuring materials are available for production and reporting any shortages or issues.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including designers and sales staff, to meet production goals and address any project-related challenges.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in woodworking, carpentry, or a related field is preferred. - Skills: Proficiency in using CNC machine software and preparing project files. Strong technical skills in woodworking, including cutting, polishing, gluing, and finishing. Ability to operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, safely and efficiently. Excellent attention to detail to ensure precision in all tasks. Good manual dexterity and physical stamina to handle the demands of the job. Basic computer skills for managing CNC projects systems. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
