We are seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Testing & Inspection Engineer to join our growing team, working across London, Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:00. This role involves carrying out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and completing associated remedial works across a diverse portfolio of properties, including domestic homes, communal areas within multi-occupancy residential buildings, and sheltered accommodation schemes.
As a Senior Engineer, you will play a key leadership role, providing guidance, mentoring, and hands-on training to junior engineers, while supporting new team members in developing their technical skills and confidence. You will work closely with Qualified Supervisors (QSs) and Site Supervisors to ensure all work is delivered to a consistently high standard and remains fully compliant with BS-7671 and all relevant Health & Safety regulations.
While the primary focus is on inspection and testing, the role may also include:
- Electrical installation work
- Reactive maintenance
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and complete any required remedial works in line with current standards and client specifications.
- Support, mentor, and provide training to a team of electricians.
- Undertake electrical testing, inspection, installation, and maintenance as required.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of electrical systems, with the ability to identify and report faults effectively.
- Interpret electrical and site drawings when necessary.
- Follow safe working practices in accordance with current health and safety legislation and all relevant regulations.
- Accurately complete and submit reports and certification electronically via PDA within required timeframes.
- Communicate professionally with clients, residents, and colleagues.
- Deliver a high standard of customer service at all times.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Participate in training and development opportunities provided by the company.
- Support business changes and initiatives that contribute to company growth and improvement.
What We Are Looking For
- Strong knowledge of the electrical industry
- Extensive experience in electrical testing and inspection procedures
- Proven experience working with three-phase electrical systems
- Solid background in electrical installations
- Experienced in completing electrical certification and reports
- Skilled in fault finding and diagnostics
- Previous supervisory experience is advantageous, but not essential
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Accurate and thorough in reporting completed works and identifying further requirements
- Confident using mobile devices to complete electronic job sheets efficiently and accurately
- Strong practical and hands-on skills
- Effective communication skills at all levels
- Good organisational and administrative abilities
- Positive attitude with strong time management and punctuality
