About the Role
Fivetran is building data pipelines to power the modern data stack for thousands of companies. We’re looking for a talented Sales Engineering Specialist - Security to join our global sales engineering specialist team. As a Sales Engineering Specialist focused on Security, you will work closely with our sales and field sales engineering teams to satisfy customers’ security needs. You will be responsible for providing timely responses to security questionnaires, engaging in customer-facing infosec calls, and collaborating with our internal SRE and Product teams focused on ensuring Fivetran’s platform security. This is a full-time remote position based in the United Kingdom.
Technologies You’ll Use
- Fivetran's data integration platform, deployment methods, and security features
- Cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform
- Security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, data loss prevention systems, and encryption
- Containerization and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker, and familiarity with hybrid and self-hosted deployment models
- Security and Data Privacy Compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI, HIPAA, HITRUST and GDPR
What You’ll Do
- Support our sales and field sales engineering teams with deep technical knowledge and understanding of Fivetran’s internal security operations, related platform features, and the security domain
- Deliver timely and accurate responses to prospect and customer security questionnaires utilizing internal tooling
- Work with Legal and AppSec to maintain internal libraries for use in security questionnaires
- Lead documentation and internal enablement efforts, helping to scale our specialist knowledge to the entire department
- Work closely with Fivetran’s Product and Engineering teams to ensure alignment of our solutions to our customer needs
- Engage directly with prospects and customers on security architecture reviews and compliance discussions, with increasing ownership over time
- Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and trends in the security domain
Skills We’re Looking For
- 3+ years as a security administrator, backend engineer, field CISO, or IT services within an enterprise or similarly complex environment
- Extensive expertise with modern cloud and on-premise network architectures, connectivity mechanisms (SSH, Reverse SSH, VPN, PrivateLink), and data security.
- Ability to effectively communicate Fivetran’s detailed security posture and influence security audiences at all levels
- Passion for data, security, analytics, and a philosophy of using technology to help solve business problems, including experience with using generative AI to accelerate and scale day-to-day workflows
- Experience with trust center management platforms and security questionnaire automation software
- Curiosity to learn and assimilate technical information quickly, enthusiasm to share and teach others.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, SQL, and Python is a bonus
