Fives Stein Ltd. is actively seeking an Electrical and Controls Engineer to join its teams in Didcot, UK. At Fives, we are all driven by a common calling, to prove that industry can do it! Your role will be to:
- Trouble-shoot malfunctions and provide preventive and corrective maintenance for our site equipment.
- Suggest actions for improvement and to enhance reliability.
- Update the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) by entering maintenance operation reports.
- Follow the procedures and rules for health and safety.

Requirements
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of Low Voltage Electrical and Control Systems
- Proficiency with CAD software (experience with E Plan preferred)
- Knowledge and familiarity with setting up Variable Frequency Inverter Drives (VFDs)
Communication Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear documentation and reports.
Problem-Solving:
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
Analytical Thinking:
- Ability to critically assess existing practices and interpret complex legislation and guidance.
Team Player:
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, but also capable of working independently with initiative.
Beneficial Experience
- Low Voltage Distribution & Switchgear: Thyristor and Transformer control.
- Programming, fault finding PLC/HMI systems, Siemens based Medium Voltage Distribution & Switchgear: Knowledge of medium voltage systems is a plus.
- Power systems: Experience with working and specifying transformers and supply runs (cable and busbar) would be highly desirable.
