Historically, we supplied the automotive and ship-building industries and more recently we are also diversifying into the Electric Vehicle and Optics markets. We are based in Cross Hills, West Yorkshire and have an Innovation Centre in Bedford.

We are currently seeking Full-Time, permanent CNC Machinist ( Precision Surface Grinder) , who have the same desire to prove that industry can do it!
At Fives we all have a part to play in achieving our common purpose. Your role will be to:
- Operating 5 axis CNC machines, using SIEMENS 840D controls.
- Reading and interpretation of engineering and quality documentation, with an understanding of geometric tolerances.
- Ensuring procedures are adhered to and documentation is controlled, ensuring quality parts are delivered to stores on time.
- Prove out and editing CNC programmes using Siemens 840D controls. (Programming experience is required)
- Visual and dimensional inspection checks against engineering specification.
- Loading and setting of fixture and components
- Loading programs
- Strong autonomy in work organization to meet production targets
- Rigorous application of quality standards with a \”Right First Time\” approach
- Adherence to company values a, particularly regarding health and safety

We are seeking experienced machinists who are fully apprentice-trained, with a good understanding of engineering drawings, the ability to meet targets with accuracy of work and the ability to work independently as well as within a large team.
