North American Construction Services, Ltd. (HQ: Pinson/Birmingham, AL) is hiring a permanent Field Service Engineer to join our team in Pinson, AL.
We are a dynamic subsidiary of Fives North American Combustion, part of the Fives Group. With over five decades of experience, we deliver innovative engineering, fabrication, and construction in industrial thermal processes, including the design, construction, retrofit, and full‑lifecycle service of furnaces, ovens, launders, holders, and other equipment.
Responsibilities
- Analyze customer site situations, gather information regarding open issues, and develop remedial plans.
- Commission, tune, and troubleshoot a variety of combustion systems.
- Navigate PLC and HMI programs, making program changes under control group supervision.
- Identify code compliance deviations and draft compliance letters as required.
- Assign quotes, create project folders, estimate and generate proposals, JSA’s, and project books for field services.
- Support external and internal sales opportunities.
Qualifications
- Availability to travel up to 80 % of the time.
- Work experience with equipment troubleshooting or commissioning.
- Demonstrated hands‑on mechanical and electrical system work.
- Understanding of reading drawings and developing BOMs for costing.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial process control or a related field, or a combination of training and experience that provides equivalent skills, knowledge, and abilities.
- Associate degree in electrical, mechanical, or instrumentation technology, or equivalent experience.
