We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Fivelands Veterinary Centre on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Fivelands Veterinary Centre is a friendly, well-established small animal practice with three sites, offering a supportive and collaborative environment for both our team and clients. Based primarily at our main branch in the lively village of Moseley, near Birmingham city centre, this is an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership role within a growing and dynamic practice.
We are proud to be an ISFM Silver Cat Friendly practice, with Veterinary Surgeons holding certificates in Feline Medicine and Dentistry, and others currently working towards certificates in Surgery and Internal Medicine. We also provide referral-level abdominal and cardiac ultrasound, giving exposure to a varied and interesting caseload.

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences. You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.
Working Pattern- 40 hours per week
- Monday to Friday working pattern
- Two late shifts per week finishing at 7:30pm
- No out-of-hours requirements
- Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied first opinion caseload
- Run nurse consultations and support preventative healthcare
- Support surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing
- Provide excellent inpatient care and support patient recovery
We’re looking for a confident and motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys working as part of a team and delivering high standards of care. You’ll bring:
- Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
- Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively
- A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
