Five Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join a lively and friendly nursery team in Frome. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well‑established, family‑run setting with a strong local reputation for delivering high‑quality early years care and education. The nursery requires a qualified nursery worker who can demonstrate a genuine passion for working with children and a commitment to enriching their early learning experiences. You will be a proactive team player who shows initiative, creativity and professionalism. You will support the Head of Room in delivering outstanding care and education, consistently striving for excellence.
Main Responsibilities
- Childcare & Education
- Plan and deliver engaging, age‑appropriate activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Support children’s physical, emotional and cognitive development through purposeful play and meaningful interactions.
- Build warm, trusting relationships with children, promoting their well‑being, confidence and independence.
- Observe, assess and record children’s progress, contributing to learning journals and development plans.
- Safeguarding & Wellbeing
- Ensure children are safe, secure and appropriately supervised at all times.
- Follow safeguarding policies and procedures, reporting any concerns promptly and in line with guidelines.
- Maintain clean, organised learning environments and uphold high standards of hygiene and health practices.
- Teamwork & Communication
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide consistent, high‑quality care.
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers, sharing updates on their child’s day and development.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions and continuous professional development.
- Environment & Daily Routine
- Set up and maintain engaging indoor and outdoor learning environments.
- Support daily routines including mealtimes, toileting, nappy changes, sleep time and transitions.
- Model positive behaviour and encourage respectful, inclusive social interactions among children.
Essential Requirements
- Right to work in the UK – we are unable to offer sponsorship or accept skilled worker visas.
- Able to provide two recent references (from the last two years).
- Hold a current DBS check registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.
- Note: If you do not have a Non‑Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70, which will be refunded after 20 days of work with us.
