We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teacher to join a supportive and well‑resourced alternate provision school in Bristol. This role is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and committed to supporting pupils with a range of social, emotional, and mental health needs. Both full‑time and part‑time opportunities may be available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, tailored lessons to meet the individual needs of pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Deliver creative and differentiated sessions to small groups of students who may display challenging behaviour.
  • Support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties, helping them to regulate emotions and develop coping strategies.
  • Maintain clear communication with parents and carers where appropriate.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience teaching pupils with SEMH/SEND (mainstream or specialist settings).
  • A patient, adaptable, and nurturing approach to teaching.
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
  • A commitment to inclusive education and improving outcomes for pupils with SEND.
  • A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
  • The ability to de‑escalate challenging situations.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Right to work in the UK – we are unable to offer sponsorship or accept Skilled Worker visas.
  • Ability to provide two recent references (from the last two years).
  • Hold a current DBS check registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.
  • Please note: if you do not have a Non‑Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70, which will be refunded after 20 days of work with us.
