Job Description

Five Education are looking for compassionate, patient, and motivated Psychology Graduates to join a supportive SEND school in Bristol as Teaching Assistants.

This is an opportunity for graduates interested in gaining experience supporting children and young people with additional needs.

The school supports students with a range of needs including autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, and learning disabilities.

In this role, you will help pupils access learning, develop emotional regulation skills, and build confidence within a structured and supportive environment.

This position is particularly suited to graduates interested in educational psychology, clinical psychology, therapy, social work, or teaching.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support based on pupils’ individual needs and EHCP targets.
  • Support students in developing communication, emotional regulation, and social skills.
  • Assist teachers in adapting learning activities to suit different abilities and learning styles.
  • Build positive relationships that help pupils feel safe, engaged, and confident at school.

  • A degree in Psychology or a related subject.
  • A genuine interest in supporting children and young people with SEND or behavioural needs.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting pupils.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

Essential Requirements

Right to work in the UK – we are unable to offer sponsorship or accept Skilled Worker visas.

Able to provide two recent references (from the last two years).

Hold a current DBS check registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.* If you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70, refunded after 20 days of work.
