The Repairer role is an on-site position based in Stoke-on-Trent, responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair of residential properties managed by Five Towns Lettings. Typical duties include carrying out general repairs, minor refurbishments, and basic renovations to keep homes safe, functional, and presentable. The Repairer will respond to maintenance requests, diagnose issues, and complete tasks such as fixing fixtures and fittings, addressing plumbing or electrical concerns within competency levels, and performing carpentry and decorating work as needed.
Qualifications
- Practical maintenance skills in areas such as basic plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, painting, and general property repairs.
- Experience in residential property maintenance, facilities management, or a similar hands-on repair role.
- Ability to diagnose issues, prioritise tasks, and work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail, commitment to safety, and adherence to relevant health and safety guidelines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with tenants, landlords, and colleagues in a professional manner.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between properties in Stoke-on-Trent and nearby areas.
- Basic record-keeping skills to document completed work, materials used, and time spent on tasks.
- Relevant vocational training or certifications in building trades or property maintenance are beneficial.
