Fostering Support Worker – Chesterfield – Maternity Cover – Part TimeFive Rivers Child Care is a Social Enterprise committed to transforming the lives of children and young people through reinvesting our surplus in children\’s futures.

We are seeking to appoint a Fostering Support Worker on a Part‐Time basis ( 22 hours a week ) to provide support to our Supervising Social Workers and Foster Carers throughout Chesterfield, Worksop, Sheffield, Derby, Nottingham, Mansfield and all places in between. A full UK driving licence is required for this role as it involves extensive driving across the above areas.

Responsibilities Include:

Promote the welfare of children/young people placed with Five Rivers Child Care Group.

Be involved in the practice aspects of supporting young people in their placements and to assist in the on‐going placement process.

Work directly with children/young people in a skilled and focused way as part of an agreed programme of work, some of whom may have experienced severe trauma.

Co‐ordinate groups and joint work for all children/young people, both in the home and community.

Plan, prioritise, and manage own workload.

Collate accurate records and create meaningful reports.

Support each young person in accordance with their care plan, and within the policies and procedures of the agency.

We\’re seeking a caring, passionate, and motivated individual who enjoys interacting with young people. Candidates must be friendly, with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a genuine passion for providing our young people and carers with high‐quality support. You may work with children and young people with a range of complex needs including learning difficulties, autism, and trauma.

You must be able to work as a team member to achieve the best outcomes for the children, and able to communicate effectively with children and adults. Experience of working in the fostering sector and/or children/young people would be an advantage but is not necessary.
