An exciting opportunity for a Service Manager to join The Fostering Company Northeast, partnered with Five Rivers Child Care. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced Fostering Service Manager who will inspire and lead a team of dedicated, skilled staff and carers who are passionate about providing children and young people the opportunity to flourish and fulfil their true potential.
Role Overview
The Service Manager will be based in our Killingworth fostering office and have a strong presence there. The role involves developing and delivering the Business Plan, shaping the future growth and development of the Fostering Service, and leading the service to move from a GOOD to OUTSTANDING Ofsted judgement. You will be the Ofsted Registered Manager, accountable for the service, meeting all regulatory requirements and leading the ambition towards outstanding performance.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage all operational aspects of the Fostering Service, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Lead and develop a team, including a team manager, to continually improve service quality for children and foster carers.
- Drive the national standards and fostering regulations through sound performance and resource management.
- Represent the service externally, developing relationships with local authorities, children's services and partners.
- Maintain financial and commercial awareness, making business decisions that support service growth.
- Travel extensively within the service area and attend meetings, training and events as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in a management position within a Fostering Service (Independent, Voluntary or Local Authority setting).
- Current Social Work England Registration and Level 5 in Leadership & Management qualification or equivalent, or willingness to undertake training within the first year.
- Operational knowledge of fostering regulations and national minimum standards.
- Strong commercial sensitivity, financial awareness and experience in resource and performance management.
- Experience working in a commercial childcare setting with a commitment to turning around children's lives.
Hours & Remuneration
Hours: 37 hours per week – Monday to Thursday 9 am to 5 pm, Friday 9 am to 4:30 pm. Expect to join the Out of Hours rota.
