We are recruiting a Supervising Social Worker/Senior Practitioner to join our fostering service based in Basildon, Essex, on a full-time basis. Our service covers London and the surrounding counties per our growth and development strategy.
In this role, you will work directly with our foster carers within a realistic caseload, which enables a high level of supervision, monitoring and intervention. This gives you the support and resources to engage positively with foster carers and children. We work within a trauma‑informed practice model (ATIC) with integration across our fostering, residential, clinical and education services to achieve the best possible outcomes for young people. This model is continually evolving with updated research and practice development.
You will also be involved in recruitment events for prospective fostering families within our foster carer recruitment activities, completing Form F assessments and support participation events for our young people. Work in collaboration with all colleagues and managers to achieve a high standard of service to foster carers and young people whilst meeting all Ofsted requirements.
Working Hours
- Monday to Thursday 9 am – 5 pm
- Friday 9 am – 4:30 pm
- Participate in out‑of‑hours duty line on a rota basis.
- Support hybrid working when agreed with our service manager.

You Will Have
- The desire to be a team player who wants to achieve the best possible outcomes for all our children and foster carers
- Experience of working in the fostering sector and/or children/young people in social care
- A formal social work qualification
- Registered as a social worker with Social Work England
- Have a valid driving licence
- Right to work in the UK
