On behalf of our client in Salisbury, we are seeking a reliable and experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician with an electrical bias to support the safe operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical building services and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on systems including:
- Low voltage distribution systems and switchgear
- Emergency lighting and general lighting systems
- Fire alarm systems and assistance call systems
- Backup generators, UPS and Building Management Systems
- Portable appliance testing (PAT)
- Electrical containment and wiring installations
- Isolation and reinstatement of electrical circuits
- Rapid response to electrical faults affecting patient care areas, clinical equipment, or critical infrastructure
- Diagnosing and resolving breakdowns in electrical systems to minimise downtime and disruption
- Attending to emergency failures such as power outages, lighting faults, or alarm system failures whilst consulting with clinical teams to ensure safe access and minimal impact during repair works
- Escalating complex faults and coordinating with specialist contractors where necessary
- Ensuring all reactive tasks are logged, tracked, and closed out in accordance with contractual SLAs & KPIs
- Completing scheduled inspections and servicing, testing and inspecting of electrical systems
- Monitoring system performance and identifying early signs of wear, overload, or failure
- Ensuring compliance with HTM standards and Trust-specific protocols
- Recording all PPM activities accurately and supporting the development of schedules and continuous improvement of maintenance strategies
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, including Risk Assessments, safe working practices and COSHH.
- Maintain accurate records for audit and statutory compliance.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing or equivalent
- Apprenticeship trained in a relevant electrical discipline
- Minimum 5 yearsβ experience in building services or FM electrical maintenance
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) certification
- Authorised Person (Electrical) training (desirable)
- Strong fault diagnosis and repair skills
- IT literacy and familiarity with maintenance management systems
- Able to pass DBS/Disclosure checks
Full time, 40 hours per week. (Monday to Friday rota). Ongoing temporary contract with potential of extension or Permanent post for the right individual.
