An exciting opportunity for a Service Manager to join The Fostering Company Northeast, partnered with Five Rivers Child Care, has arisen. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced Fostering Service Manager who will inspire and lead a team of dedicated, skilled staff and carers who are passionate about providing children and young people the opportunity to flourish and fulfil their true potential.
This role will be based in our Killingworth fostering office, with an expectation of having a strong presence there. Your presence will be instrumental in developing and delivering The Fostering Company North East's Business Plan and you will help shape, influence, and implement the future growth and development of our Fostering Service.
The Service Manager will face exciting opportunities and challenges as we continue to grow and develop our services. You will be the Ofsted Registered Manager and will be accountable for the service. You will meet all regulatory requirements and lead us in our ambition to move from a GOOD to OUTSTANDING Ofsted judgement for this Fostering Service.
You will have demonstrable experience or knowledge of working in a commercial environment within a childcare setting, with a strong commitment to turning around the lives of the children and young people with whom we work. Experience in resource and performance management is essential, and you will need to have a sound understanding of the Fostering Regulations and National Minimum Standards.
You will be working with a team, including a team manager, who are driven and ambitious to continually improve their service to children and foster carers. To be considered for the post, you will need experience in a management position within a Fostering Service, either in an Independent, Voluntary, or Local Authority setting.
You will need to hold a current Social Work England Registration and either hold a Level 5 in Leadership & Management qualification or equivalent or be prepared to undertake training to achieve this within the first year of appointment. You will have operational knowledge that is based in best practice, is commercially sensitive, and financially aware.
In your role as part of the Fostering Service Operations Management Group, you will be required to travel extensively in the area covered by this service and occasionally beyond for meetings and other events.
Hours
- Monday to Thursday: 9 am to 5 pm
- Friday: 9 am to 4:30 pm
- 37 hours per week
- Expectation to join the Out of Hours Rota
