The Role: As an Electrical Estimator, you'll play a pivotal role in the pre-construction process, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing for electrical projects. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: * Analysing project drawings, specifications, and tender documents to determine the scope of works. * Preparing detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment. * Sourcing and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing. * Collaborating with the wider estimating and design teams to produce comprehensive M&E tenders. * Conducting site visits and attending client meetings to understand project requirements fully. * Staying up-to-date with industry pricing trends and regulations to maintain competitive bids. * Supporting the handover process by providing detailed cost breakdowns and working closely with project teams. What They’re Looking For: The ideal candidate will have: * A proven track record as an Electrical Estimator in the building services or construction sector. * Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and regulations. * Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail. * Proficiency in using estimation software. * The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. * Outstanding communication and negotiation skills to liaise with suppliers and clients. * A proactive approach and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Qualifications: * Relevant qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (e.g., HNC, HND, or equivalent). * Professional memberships, such as IET, are beneficial but not essential. * A valid UK driving license for site visits.
