Role Overview
In every restaurant, you'll find talented Shift Managers who support the General and Assistant Managers to ensure that every shift runs to Five Guys standards and that every customer leaves the restaurant feeling better than when they arrived.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate leadership, coaching, and direction to the team, bringing Five Guys values to life.
- Lead from the front and work hands-on on the line and in the dining area.
- Support the General Manager in delivering perfect burgers and fries while providing an “above & beyond” experience for the crew and customers.
- Create an awesome working environment where people are happy to come to work and have fun while leading with our values – Competitive, Enthusiastic, Family, Get It Done, and Integrity.
- Ensure every customer is delighted with their order and their Five Guys experience, handling complaints promptly, openly, and honestly.
- Guarantee that each shift runs smoothly and that our values form part of your shift management.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of management experience in a similar role within a high-volume hospitality or QSR environment.
- Obsessed with the guest experience, proven by metrics such as customer satisfaction scores, engagement, Mystery Shopper results, and positive reviews.
- Strong financial responsibility: understand the basics of running a profitable shift, managing crew breaks, minimising food waste, and deploying the team effectively during rushes.
- Natural motivator who enjoys being hands-on, leads by example, and knows how to get the best out of the crew during a busy service.
- Good working knowledge of Food Hygiene and Health & Safety standards and the ability to enforce them on the line.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
