We're the burger restaurant with the uncomplicated formula: burgers and fries cooked to perfection, with no frozen ingredients. And we've stuck to the same 'perfect and serve' philosophy since our family business began in 1986. In every restaurant, you'll find talented Assistant Managers who work with the General Manager and share the responsibility for the success of the restaurant's results.

As an Assistant Manager, you'll be responsible for:

  • Leading, inspiring and coaching the teams to ensure the restaurant delivers profitability and optimises all sales opportunities while delivering an excellent level of customer service.
  • Demonstrating leadership, coaching and direction, along with bringing our values to life for your team and our customers.
  • Supporting the General Manager in the delivery of perfect burgers & fries, store results and providing an above & beyond experience for your team and customers.
  • Ensuring every customer is delighted with their order and their Five Guys experience, dealing with complaints promptly in an open and honest way.
  • Ensuring that each shift runs as smoothly as possible and that our values form part of your shift management, thinking about long-term plans.
  • Spotting potential and developing your team to ensure there is a strong talent pipeline.

Experience:

  • Ideally, you have at least 1-2 years of management experience in a similar role within a high-volume hospitality or QSR environment.
  • You know what it takes to run a busy shift and keep the energy high.

Financial Responsibility:

  • You have experience assisting with P&L management, controlling labour costs, and managing inventory/waste to hit profitability targets.

Leadership Skills:

  • You have a proven track record of leading, coaching, and motivating a team.
  • You develop people and identify future talent.

Operational Excellence:

  • You have a solid understanding of Food Safety standards, Health & Safety regulations, and maintaining 5-star hygiene ratings.

Flexibility:

  • You are available to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

If you are ambitious and want to grow, we can provide you with support and the right tools to build a career with us. Your next step would be a Deputy General Manager or General Manager, leading to a future as an Area Trainer, District Manager or a role in the Support Office.
