Five Education is working with a specialist SEN provision in Bristol to recruit a committed and compassionate SEN Teacher to work with a KS3 class of pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a highly supportive, well-resourced setting that prioritises personalised learning, communication, and holistic development.

The Role

  • Planning and delivering adapted lessons to meet the needs of pupils with PMLD
  • Leading a classroom supported by Teaching Assistants and support staff
  • Managing EHCP targets, progress tracking, and communication plans
  • Supporting pupils' sensory, physical, and communication needs
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment
  • Completing marking, assessment, and planning responsibilities in line with a paid-to-scale role
  • Working collaboratively with therapists, SENCOs, and families

About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working with SEN pupils, ideally within a specialist or inclusive setting
  • A strong understanding of, or interest in, supporting children with PMLD
  • Ability to deliver creative, flexible, and differentiated teaching approaches
  • Strong teamwork and classroom leadership skills
  • Applicants without a formal SEN specialism will be considered if they can demonstrate relevant SEN experience and a passion for inclusive education

Pay

Paid to scale (MPS/UPS) reflective of experience and responsibilities, including planning and marking.
