Five Education is looking for a teacher to work within a secondary SEN school in Street, supporting students with a range of additional needs, including Autism, communication difficulties, and social and emotional needs. This role will involve teaching across two classes, providing consistency and support to pupils in a specialist setting. The successful candidate will have classroom teaching experience and a good understanding of inclusive and adaptive teaching methods, with experience working with SEND highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Teach across two classes, providing consistency and support to pupils in a specialist SEN setting.
- Use teaching materials and resources, encouraging creativity and flexibility, and adapt lessons to best support pupil engagement and progress.
- Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, communication difficulties, and social and emotional needs.
- Work with a supportive staff team, strong leadership, and a positive ethos focused on helping every pupil achieve their potential.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Classroom teaching experience, preferably with SEND.
- Good understanding of inclusive and adaptive teaching methods.
- Confidence in differentiating learning to meet a range of needs.
- Right to work in the UK – no sponsorship or Skilled Worker visa.
- Provide two recent references (from the last two years).
- Hold a current DBS check registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.
- Willingness to start a Non‑Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service; if not, the school will process a new one at a cost of £62.70, refunded after 20 days of work.
