An excellent special school in Frome is looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant. You may have worked as a support worker, in-class support worker or a Learning Support Advisor previously. You may have a related qualification or the ability to demonstrate relevant experience. You would be able to support children with a range of special educational needs, including learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), sensory, speech and language impairments and behavioural difficulties.

The school has great feedback from parents and supply staff. The staff team are supportive and welcoming. The school needs people who can commit to 5 days a week.

You will need to be confident in:

  • Adapting the lesson activity according to pupil's individual needs
  • Creating and maintaining a stimulating learning environment for the pupils to achieve and thrive.

The pay rate is £13.78 an hour. The day is 7 hours with an unpaid 30 min lunch break. Your daily rate of pay would be £89.66 but with a potential to earn more based on level of experience, including holiday pay.

  • Two recent references, covering the last 2 years
  • Relevant DBS/Police checks, or willing to obtain
