Five Education is looking for a teacher to teach a special class in a mainstream primary school in Ilminster, the role starts as soon as possible. The students in the class all have an EHCP with a range of identified SEMH needs. You will be responsible for planning and delivering materials to a small class, ensuring outcomes are met and tailoring activities to meet the individual needs of the children. This will be through a therapeutic and nurturing approach guided by the students’ interests and the National Curriculum. You will be working with a specialised team of support staff and multi‑professionals to ensure pupils’ needs are fulfilled and strategies are put into place.
The successful candidate will need to be a qualified teacher with significant SEND/SEMH experience and would be comfortable leading a team of experienced staff.
Essential Criteria- QTS
- Experience in working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH)
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Relevant references and DBS/police checks, if required
- Availability to work five days a week (term time only)
- Ability to obtain a Non‑Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the update service, with a cost of £62.70 which will be refunded after 20 days of work
- Free specialised training in areas such as Team Teach, Makaton, PMLD/SLD Awareness, Autism Awareness, and more
- Free DBS (refunded when you work 20 days)

Pay: Five Education operates a PAYE payroll; this is the most transparent way to be paid with no hidden fees such as admin fee or employer's NI. Please note pay rate is for illustration and does include holiday pay.
