Five Education is looking for a Teacher to deliver to a small class of secondary‑age children diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). The school is based in Templecombe, offers on‑site parking and is accessible by public transport. Successful candidates will bring classroom teaching experience and a developed understanding of autism‑friendly teaching methods. The school encourages individuality and welcomes adaptation of learning materials to make lessons outstanding. Previously a primary, secondary or FE teacher, you will benefit from training and support while working with our supportive staff cohort and good facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver lessons to small classes of secondary‑age children with ASD.
  • Adapt and adapt learning materials to support communication, social and academic needs.
  • Use autism‑friendly teaching methods and collaborate with the team.
  • Apply for and maintain appropriate safeguarding checks (DBS, reference checks).
  • Participate in training and professional development programmes.

Qualifications

  • Previous classroom teaching experience.
  • Right to work in the UK – no sponsorship or Skilled Worker visas.
  • Two recent references from the last two years.
  • Current DBS check registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
  • Ability to work with children who have communication and social challenges.
