SEN Learning Support Partner (1:1) - Trauma/ASC Support

Location: South Bristol Hours: Full-time Pay: £88.62-£100 per day

Five Education is working with a supportive and inclusive primary school in South Bristol to recruit a SEN Learning Support Partner. This role involves providing 1:1 support for a pupil whose needs stem from trauma and present with ASC characteristics.

The school is dedicated to creating a nurturing, trauma-informed environment where every child feels safe, understood, and able to succeed.

The Role

You will play a vital role in helping the child regulate emotions, build trust, and engage positively with learning. Key responsibilities include:

• Providing consistent 1:1 support tailored to the child's individual needs
• Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour management using a trauma-informed approach
• Implementing structured routines and personalised strategies
• Building a safe, trusting relationship with the pupil
• Supporting engagement with learning activities inside and outside the classroom
• Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support staff

About You

• A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
• Understanding of trauma-informed practice or willingness to learn
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships
• Resilient and adaptable in a dynamic classroom environment
• Experience working with SEN, ASC, or children with additional emotional needs is desirable but not essential
• Relevant qualifications such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant are beneficial

Pay

• £88.62 - £100 per day
• Increased rates available for Level 2/3 qualified Teaching Assistants

Essential requirements

Right to work in the UK - we are unable to offer Sponsorship or accept Skilled Worker visas.

Able to provide two recent references (from the last two years).

Hold a current DBS check registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one

Please note, if you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70. This will be refunded after 20 days of work with us.

Pay: Five Education operates a PAYE payroll; this is the most transparent way to be paid with no hidden fees such as admin fee or employer's NI. Please note pay rate is for illustration and does include holiday pay.
