Graduate Opportunities – Teaching Assistant Roles Supporting SEND Students Location: Plymouth Contract: Full-time or part-time, flexible supply work Start Date: September 2025 Pay: £90–£100 per day (inclusive of holiday pay) Are you a recent graduate looking to gain valuable skills and experience working with children and young people? Five Education is recruiting enthusiastic and caring graduates to work as Teaching Assistants in mainstream and special schools, providing support to children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This is a fantastic opportunity to: Build experience working with children and young people Develop skills that are transferable across sectors – including education, social care, psychology, youth work, and more Make a meaningful impact on the lives of children who need extra support to thrive About the role: Support students in class with learning, social development, and emotional wellbeing Work one-to-one or with small groups of students with needs such as Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health) Assist with classroom activities and behaviour management Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment We are looking for people who are: Passionate about working with children and young people Reliable, empathetic, and confident Willing to learn and receive specialist training Experienced with or interested in working with SEND (experience in youth work, care, tutoring, or support roles is also welcome) Whether you\’re looking for a stepping stone into teaching, psychology, or social work or just want to gain hands-on experience in a rewarding field, we would love to hear from you.
