Cover Supervisor - SEMH School (BS15) – £120-£130 per day, Full-Time, Immediate Start, Five Education
The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will lead pre-planned lessons in the absence of teaching staff, helping to maintain a positive and structured learning environment. You'll work closely with an experienced team of Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) who provide additional support throughout the school day.
Class sizes are deliberately kept small, with 8-10 pupils per class, allowing staff to build strong relationships with students and provide tailored support where needed.
No two days are the same, and the role requires someone who can remain calm, adaptable, and positive in a dynamic school environment.
The pupils you will support may present with:
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Behavioural challenges
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- ADHD
- Other forms of neurodivergence
- Additional learning and communication needs
The Ideal Candidate
- Have experience working with secondary-aged children or young people
- Are confident managing behaviour and setting clear boundaries
- Can build positive, professional relationships with pupils
- Are patient, empathetic, and resilient
- Have experience within education, youth work, coaching, residential care, support work, or similar settings
- Are passionate about helping young people achieve their potential

Essential Criteria
- Able to work 5 days a week (term time only), Monday-Friday 8:30-15:30
- Right to work in the UK – we CANNOT accept sponsorship or a skilled worker visa
- Minimum two recent references, covering the last two years
- Up-to-date DBS/police check, or be willing to obtain one
Pay: Five Education operates a PAYE payroll; this is the most transparent way to be paid with no hidden fees such as admin fee or employer's NI. Please note pay rate is for illustration and includes holiday pay.
Vetting: Five Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all of the staff we employ to share this commitment. Successful applicants will be required to undergo checks including reference checks, TRA checks and will need to have a DBS. There will also be an interview.
