We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher to deliver GCSE English (1.5 days per week) and GCSE Maths (1.5 days per week) within a small and supportive Post-16 Alternative Provision.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a small cohort of learners, all of whom have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
The provision prides itself on offering personalised support, positive relationships, and a nurturing environment that enables young people to achieve their potential both academically and personally.
The Role
- Delivering engaging GCSE English and/or GCSE Maths lessons.
- Planning and adapting lessons to meet a range of learning needs and abilities.
- Supporting learners with SEND to access the curriculum and achieve their qualifications.
- Creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Monitoring progress and contributing to educational reviews and target setting.
- Working collaboratively with support staff and the wider team to maximise outcomes for learners.
About You
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Have experience teaching GCSE English and/or GCSE Maths.
- Have experience supporting young people with SEND, SEMH needs, or within alternative provision settings.
- Are able to build strong relationships and engage learners who may have experienced barriers to education.
- Have a flexible, patient, and creative approach to teaching.
- Are passionate about improving outcomes for young people with additional needs.

Essential Criteria
- Able to work 5 days a week (term time only), Monday-Friday 8:30-15:30.
- Right to work in the UK – we CANNOT accept sponsorship or a skilled worker visa.
- Minimum two recent references, covering the last two years.
- Up-to-date DBS/police check, or be willing to obtain one*.
*Please note, if you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70.
This will be refunded after 20 days of work with us.
