Five Education is currently recruiting teaching assistants to work in an inclusive, welcoming special school in Bristol. The role involves supporting students with a variety of additional needs, such as ASC, Down syndrome, ADHD and SEMH difficulties. Working hours are 8:30 until 3:30. Full‑time availability is preferred, but applicants who can work at least twice per week will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Support students both 1:1 and in small groups to make the curriculum accessible and engaging.
- Ensure the safety and well‑being of students during breaks and lunch times.
- Help students develop social skills and self‑regulation.
- Collaborate with teachers, the SENCo and other staff to address individual student needs.
Essential Requirements
- Right to work in the UK – no sponsorship or Skilled Worker visas will be offered.
- Able to provide two recent references (from the last two years).
- Hold a current DBS check registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.
- Note: If you do not have a Non‑Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, Five Education will assist with the new DBS process at a cost of £62.70, which will be refunded after 20 days of work.
