Five Education is looking for a Teaching Assistant to work within a secondary SEN school in Street, supporting students with a range of additional needs, including Autism, communication difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. This role will involve supporting pupils across classes, providing both 1:1 and small group support in a structured and supportive specialist setting. The position is required until the end of the summer term, offering a great opportunity to gain further experience in SEN education.

The successful candidate will have experience working in a similar role and be confident supporting pupils with a range of needs. You will play a key role in helping students access learning, regulate emotions, and develop independence within the school environment. The school has a supportive staff team, strong leadership, and a positive ethos, with a focus on ensuring every pupil is given the opportunity to succeed.

The Role

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEND
  • Assist with personal care needs in a respectful and professional manner
  • Support pupils with communication, behaviour, and emotional regulation
  • Work closely with teaching staff to support engagement and progress

Essential requirements: Hold a current DBS check registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one. Please note, if you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70.
