Supply Teaching Assistant – Swindon and Surrounding Area
Location: Swindon and nearby towns
Contract: Flexible supply (2-5 days per week)
Pay: £89-£100 per day (inclusive of holiday pay)
The Role
We are seeking Teaching Assistants to join our team and provide supply cover in a variety of schools across the Swindon area. You will be working with children and young people with a range of additional needs, supporting them both in the classroom and in smaller groups. We can offer regular work (5 days per week) or flexible supply (minimum of 2 days), depending on your availability.
What We\’re Looking For
SEND experience is highly desirable, but we also welcome applicants from care and support backgrounds who are confident, patient, and adaptable. The role requires resilience, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships with both pupils and staff.
Essential Criteria
- Experience supporting children, young people, or vulnerable adults
- Patience, flexibility, and a caring nature
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and professionally
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow guidance from teaching staff
Desirable Criteria
- Previous SEND experience (school or care settings)
- Experience working in specialist provisions or resource bases

Pay
Five Education operates a PAYE payroll – the most transparent way to be paid with no hidden fees such as admin charges or employer\’s NI. Please note, pay rate is illustrative and includes holiday pay.
Vetting
Five Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Applicants will undergo checks including reference and TRA checks. If you do not have a non-voluntary enhanced DBS on the update service, a new DBS will need to be processed at a cost of £62.70, refunded after 20 days of work and once registered to the update service.
