Five Education are seeking caring, resilient, and enthusiastic Psychology Graduates to work as Teaching Assistants in a welcoming SEND school in Plymouth. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates looking to build hands-on experience supporting children and young people with additional educational needs while developing skills relevant to future careers. The school caters for pupils with a variety of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning disabilities. As a Teaching Assistant, you'll play an important role in helping students engage with learning, develop their independence, and build confidence in a safe, nurturing environment. This role is ideal for graduates considering careers in educational psychology, clinical psychology, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, social work, or teaching, and who want meaningful experience within a specialist education setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to help pupils achieve their individual learning and EHCP targets.
- Encourage the development of communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation skills.
- Work alongside teachers to adapt lessons and activities to meet a range of learning needs and abilities.
- Build trusting relationships with pupils, helping them feel secure, motivated, and included throughout the school day.
What We're Looking For:
- A degree in Psychology or a related discipline.
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEND, SEMH, or additional learning needs.
- A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach to working with pupils.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
Essential requirements:
- Right to work in the UK β we are unable to offer Sponsorship or accept Skilled Worker visas.
- Able to provide two recent references (from the last two years).
- Hold a current DBS check registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.

Pay: Five Education operates a PAYE payroll; this is the most transparent way to be paid with no hidden fees such as admin fee or employer's NI. Please note pay rate is for illustration and does include holiday pay.
