We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Primary Teacher to join our SEN specialist provision in Withywood, working with a small Key Stage 2 class of pupils with Special Educational Needs, predominantly Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher who is committed to inclusive education and making a genuine difference to children who require a nurturing, structured and trauma-informed approach to learning.

The Role

  • Teach and support a small KS2 class within a specialist SEN provision
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and social development
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs, therapists and external agencies
  • Create a calm, safe and supportive classroom environment where pupils can thrive

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has experience working with pupils with SEN and/or SEMH needs (desirable, not essential)
  • Is patient, flexible and empathetic with a strong understanding of behaviour as communication
  • Demonstrates excellent classroom management and relationship-building skills
  • Is committed to safeguarding and inclusive practice

Essential Criteria:

  • Able to work 5 days a week (term time only), Monday-Friday 8:30-15:30
  • Right to work in the UK - we CANNOT accept sponsorship or a skilled worker visa
  • Minimum two recent references, covering the last two years
  • Up-to-date DBS/police check, or be willing to obtain one

Please note, if you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70. This will be refunded after 20 days of work with us.
