Five Education is seeking a proactive Cover Supervisor or HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) to support learners across a range of primary and secondary settings in the Bristol area. This role is perfect for those who enjoy variety, thrive in fast-paced environments, and have a passion for supporting young people—especially those with additional needs.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Leading whole class lessons during teacher absences using pre-prepared materials.
- Supporting students in developing key academic and personal skills across the curriculum.
- Working closely with teaching staff and SEND teams to manage behaviour and ensure every learner stays engaged.
- Acting as a positive role model for students, promoting resilience, curiosity, and a love of learning.
- Providing tailored support to individuals or small groups with SEND or SEMH needs where required.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Has prior experience working in a classroom environment (as a TA, HLTA, tutor, or youth mentor).
- Is confident in managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Can adapt quickly to new settings and build rapport with students from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Holds an HLTA qualification or equivalent (or has solid experience in a similar capacity).
- Has a genuine interest in education, inclusion, and supporting students with diverse needs.
