Five Education is seeking a confident and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Bristol. This is a full-time position supporting students who may display challenging behaviours and require a calm, consistent, and restorative approach.
About the Role:
- Full-time TA role in a specialist SEMH setting
- Working with a range of age groups
- Supporting students with behavioural, social, and emotional needs. Children may have experienced trauma.
- Using restorative practices to resolve conflict and build positive relationships
- Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams
- Helping students regulate, engage in learning, and progress socially and academically
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is confident supporting students with SEMH needs
- Is comfortable managing challenging behaviours in a professional, calm manner
- Understands restorative approaches and relationship-focused practice
- Is patient, resilient, and able to build trust with young people
- Has previous experience in SEND, SEMH, youth work, care, or similar fields (desirable but not essential)
- Can commit to a full-time, long-term role
