Learning Mentor - Alternative Provision

Location: Berkeley, Gloucestershire

Hours: Full Time | 8:30am - 4:30pm | Term Time

Contract: Fixed term until end of academic year (with potential to become permanent)

Pay: £105 per day (inclusive of holiday pay)

We are working with a small, specialist Alternative Provision in Berkeley that is looking to welcome a Learning Mentor into their growing and dedicated team. This setting offers a unique, child-centred approach tailored to meet the individual needs of pupils who find mainstream education challenging. This is an opportunity to be part of a close-knit team where relationships, creativity, and consistency are at the heart of everything they do. You will be supporting students aged 5-17 with SEND and/or behavioural needs, many of whom are unable to access full-time education in mainstream settings. The setting benefits from small group sizes and high staff-to-student ratios.

The Role

  • Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Planning and leading engaging sessions, including arts and crafts, therapeutic activities, and life skills
  • Encouraging independence, emotional regulation, and social skills
  • Maintaining high expectations while providing consistent, nurturing support
  • Working as part of a close team to follow a bespoke educational approach
