Five Education require a behaviour mentor to work in a special school in Yeovil. You will be supporting a SEMH (Social Emotional and Mental Health needs) class, and working either with the whole class or 1:1.
Responsibilities and duties:
- Working alongside classroom teachers to support the behaviour of identified pupils
- Assisting with inclusion activities
- Assisting with the differentiation of lessons
- Working 1:1 or with small groups with pupils who have a diagnosis of SEMH
- Potentially working with small groups or in a 1:1 setting
- Be flexible and willing to work with students outside the classroom, this school offers alternative education options including vocational subjects
- Using de-escalation techniques to ensure pupils are calm and able to access the full range of education offered
- Providing a positive role model for young people
- Providing feedback and helping with assessments
Essential Criteria:
- Patience, flexibility and dedication
- Confident to support in KS3 and KS4
- A calm demeanour
- Good behaviour management skills
- You will be able to demonstrate strong behaviour management skills
- Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa)
- Relevant DBS/Police checks
- A valid Team Teach certificate isn't essential but would be an advantage
- Able to work 8.30-3.30, 5 days per week term time only
*Please note, if you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70. This will be refunded after 20 days of work with us.

Pay: Five Education operates a PAYE payroll; this is the most transparent way to be paid with no hidden fees such as admin fee or employer's NI. Please note pay rate is for illustration and does include holiday pay.
