Five Education is seeking a compassionate and committed 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide individualised support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a primary or secondary school setting. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, resilient, and passionate about making a meaningful difference in a child's educational journey.

You will be working closely with a pupil who requires additional support due to a specific learning difficulty, developmental delay, or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) need. This is a vital role in helping students access learning, develop confidence, and thrive in a mainstream or specialist environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student with SEN, ensuring their learning is tailored to their individual needs.
  • Assist with lesson delivery and help the pupil stay engaged and focused.
  • Support the development of social skills, emotional regulation, and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement and review individual support plans.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and manage challenging situations calmly and effectively.
Essential Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people in a school, care, or youth setting.
  • Understanding of SEN, particularly Autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with children and support their learning and emotional well-being.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
