FitzRoy is pleased to be recruiting a Support Worker on a 1-year fixed-term contract for our Residential care home in Stone, Dartford, near Bluewater shopping centre. The home provides social care and support for up to 12 residents with learning disabilities, including physical disabilities and complex health needs. It is divided into two sides across one level, with 6 bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, dining rooms, and lounges in each side.

Residents enjoy a spacious living area with a large garden, used extensively in the summer months. They have been supported to decorate and furnish their home as they wish. All bathrooms are adapted with ceiling hoists, and there are hydrotherapy baths and sensory areas. Our staff support residents to access the community, including local day centres, rebound therapy, outings for meals, personal shopping, or attending local football matches. We have an adapted vehicle to facilitate outings. Turnbull Close is known for being a homely, welcoming, and inclusive environment.

  • Weekday rates from £12.35 per hour, rising to £14.85 with overtime (above 37.5 hours). Weekend rates from £13.58 per hour, rising to £16.08 with overtime (above 37.5 hours).
  • Part-time role, 22.5 hours per week, with flexibility to meet the service needs.
  • Typical shift patterns: 07:30-15:00 or 14:30-22:00, varying based on service needs.
  • Sleep-in shifts paid at a flat rate of £50.
  • Alternate weekend work required at enhanced pay rates as mentioned above.
  • Full driving license preferred, with willingness to drive FitzRoy vehicles.

The role includes:

  • Supporting individuals based on their unique needs.
  • Engaging in a variety of activities such as shopping, crafts, bowling, or swimming.
  • Assisting with personal care, including showers and baths.
