Service Type: Supported Living - Community Based Support

Pay: £14.00 per hour + 10% weekend enhancement

Contract: Full Time (37.5 hours per week)

Shift Pattern

  • Working 4 days on rota supporting people we support
  • 1 day off rota dedicated to administration, audits, support planning, coaching colleagues and service-related tasks
  • Early and late shifts
  • Weekend working required (2 out of 4 weekends)

Join FitzRoy as a Senior Support Worker

FitzRoy's Supported Living service in North Walsham supports adults with learning disabilities and autism across two welcoming bungalows within the local community. We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Senior Support Worker to help lead our team and deliver outstanding person-centred support.

This is a community-based role where support is delivered primarily on a 1:1 basis, helping people enjoy independence, access their local community and achieve their personal goals. From days out at the beach and visiting local cafés to supporting with daily living skills, no two days are the same.

About the Role

As a Senior Support Worker, you will lead by example, providing high-quality support while assisting the management team with the day-to-day running of the service. You will play a key role in ensuring people receive safe, effective and person-centred support.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting people to enjoy their interests, hobbies and community activities
  • Providing personal care and support with daily routines
  • Promoting independence, choice and inclusion
  • Administering medication and supporting with health appointments
  • Acting as a role model and mentor for Support Workers
  • Completing audits, support plans, risk assessments and service records
  • Supporting new colleagues through induction and ongoing coaching
  • Liaising with families, professionals and external agencies
  • Assisting the management team to ensure compliance and quality standards are maintained

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism or complex needs
  • A positive, proactive and caring approach
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to lead shifts and support colleagues effectively
  • Full UK manual driving licence (essential for using service vehicles)
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including weekends
