FitzRoy are recruiting a Full Time Support Worker for our supported living service in Havant, Hampshire. As we enter an exciting period of growth and expansion there has never been a better time to join us!
We are looking for a caring, reliable and confident support worker to support Jane, in her 80s, and Mark, in his late 30s, who live together and enjoy living their lives in their own home.
Jane and Mark both have physical disabilities, health conditions, epilepsy and learning disabilities, and are non-verbal. They each have their own personalities, preferences and routines, and the focus of support is very much on enabling them to enjoy gloriously ordinary lives — being at home, following their routines, making choices, enjoying everyday activities and getting on with life in their own way.
The role involves working independently as a lone worker, providing practical and person-centred support while respecting Jane and Mark's independence, dignity and individual ways of communicating.
We are looking for someone who is patient, observant, dependable and comfortable providing full manual support where required. Most importantly, you should see the people you support as individuals first and help them to live full, ordinary, meaningful lives.
A full UK Manual driving licence is preferred as you may be required to drive to appointments and going out and about.

- Day shift: £13.00 per hour weekdays and £14.30 weekends.
- Enhanced rates for overtime. (over 37.5 hours per week)
- Full time (37.5 hours).
- Time and a half or double time for public holidays.
- Sleep-ins are £50 per night.
- 30 days holiday when you start.
We’re hiring Support Workers
As a support worker, you’ll wake up every day feeling good about your work. Even without previous care experience, as long as you have the right values we’ll train and support you to be confident in delivering care and support to transform lives for people with disabilities.
What does a Support Worker do?
A support worker’s day is varied and rewarding. You will:
- Support everyone differently to their individual needs.
- Getting involved in a range of people’s interests and activities.
- Support and encourage with personal care, such as showers and baths.
Support Worker Hours
You will work a set pattern of morning and afternoon shifts. Shifts are 7.5 hours, and a full-time contract is 37.5 hours (5 shifts a week). The earliest start is from 7am and the latest finish is until 10pm.
Weekend working is essential, which will be on a rotating basis and when you work a weekend you will have the time off in the week.
