Fitzroy is an innovative, not-for-profit provider of person-centred care, specializing in supporting individuals with learning disabilities. As we continue to expand, there has never been a better time to join us. We are currently looking for passionate, reliable, and energetic individuals to join a new team in Ruddington, Nottingham.
This is a small service located in the beautiful, well-maintained grounds of Ruddington. The position involves providing 2:1 support for one woman in her own accommodation. The individual we support is pre-verbal and occasionally uses Makaton to communicate. She requires full personal care support throughout the day, although she can independently mobilize and eat. At times, she may display challenging or self-injury behaviours. The person we support enjoys being active and engaging with the community, from visiting theme parks and zoos to shopping trips and pampering sessions. She also enjoys a variety of in-house activities like singing, dancing, arts and crafts, dressing up, and relaxing in her indoor hot tub.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote the independence of the individual we support.
- Assist with personal care needs, including full daily support.
- Engage in a wide range of community and in-house activities.
- Help to develop life skills and personal interests.
- Ensure safety and health needs are met.
- Maintain accurate records and assist with service monitoring.
- Provide manual handling support where required.
Location: Ruddington, Nottingham is a beautiful area, but public transport can be limited. As such, applicants will need a valid UK driving licence and access to their own vehicle. This is particularly important, as you will be responsible for taking the person we support into the community for activities and appointments.
